Hello out there!

Wow, it has been quite some time since I posted an update.

A lot has happened, and a lot continues to happen. I’ve touched briefly on our struggles this school year over on instagram, and I’ll eventually write about it, but for now, just know Robert is doing better. His new school has embraced him and they meet him where’s he is at. He’s not expected to conform, he isn’t yelled at by someone who should be helping him, and he isn’t pushed into the back corner of the classroom. Instead, he’s expected to be the best version of himself, continuously improving and building friendships. It’s wonderful.

Robert is continuing to play violin. He recently had his violin recital, and one of his friends came to watch. She told her mom that Robert was the best one up there, which clearly shows how wonderfully he played for everyone!

Sullivan has also begun to play an instrument, and his piano recital happened not too long ago. He played fantastically, and remembered to bow both before and after he played.

We’re in a new season of parenthood and learning so much. Robert is maturing and becoming more independent. Sullivan is becoming quite the little leader, reader, and math wizard, constantly asking me to tell him what 5+5+1,000,000+3 is equal to (*equation changes each time he asks me, but always something random like this). Alistair continues to straddle being a toddler and a big kid, not quite sure that he’s ready to grow up (but never wanting to be left behind). Margo is coming into her own, and wants everyone to know she’s here, and in charge. I feel so lucky to watch these kids develop into their own persons and share their view of the world with me.

As we head into 2024, I’ve been thinking about what my word for next year should be. Curiosity has served me quite well this year, and I want to build on that for next year. Let me know if you have any suggestions – please!

So there you have it, a quick little “hey everyone” to let you know that despite all of the changes we’ve recently gone through, and the string of colds that have hit our home, we’re doing well. Robert’s found his enthusiasm for learning once again, and I’m practicing my math skills while making dinner.

What’s new with you?
